23-10-2023 Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and His Royal Highness Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel attended the 6th edition of the Royal Highland Festival in Laya.
The festival is held in a village in northern Bhutan, and requires visitors to trek up for an average of 6-8 hours from the closest motorable road.
This is HRH Gyalsey Jigme Namgyels 1st visit to Laya- he was born the year the festival was instituted in 2016.
